Here's just a mish-mash of what we're up to this summer!

Grandma and Grandpa visit from Panama

Guess who found her makeup from Bibbidy Bobbity Boutique @ Disney World??

Oh how they've grown!  Iris and Annie - what a duo!  Iris is exactly 4 months younger than Annie - yet weighs the same!  How cute are they??

Nanny and Pappy visit from PA

Look @ me!!

Swimming with Nanny

Lucy going to her friend Grace's birthday party - she was supposed to bring her doll to the party with her.  It was pretty amazing - with dress up and a tea party!

Practicing some math - Lucy is constantly saying she misses school.  She's ready to go back.  Look close and you can see she has some makeup on again!

We are so so excited for our trip coming up soon.  Ah, the beach!

More Beautiful You

Whenever we hear the chorus to the song "More Beautiful You" by Johnny Diaz, Matt and I always think of our girls.

Our sweet girls:
We always want to celebrate who you are - because there could never be a more beautiful "you!"  You are both so beautiful and unique in your own way.  We pray that you will always remember who you are - and listen to the truth of your Maker.  You were made to fill a purpose. We are more than blessed to be your Mommy and Daddy.

Lucy Mae - you are so spunky and love life.  Always moving from sun up to sun down.  Your acceptance of others amazes me.  You love with all your heart.  I love you, Sugar Plum.

Sweet Annabelle - you are so easy-going and huggable.  You marvel at everything you see and take it all in.  I adore you and always know that you were worth the wait, my Pumpkin.  I simply cannot believe you are about to turn 1-year old.

Our hearts overflow with love for you both.  Praising the God who created you!

There could never be a more beautiful you
Don't buy the lies disguises and hoops they make you jump through
You were made to fill a purpose that only you could do
So there could never be a more beautiful

The ONE who's strong can right your wrongs
Can rid your fears and dry all your tears
And change the way you look at this big world
He will take your dark distorted view
And with His light He will show you truth
And again you'll see through the eyes of a little girl

All of our photos were taken by the amazing Anne Gregoire.  She did such an amazing job with the girls and made them feel comfortable and just had fun.  Click HERE to find out more about Anne Gregoire Photography.

Michigan Trip

The girls and I traveled to MI!  We had a fun time with Aunt Mim, Uncle Dean, and Cousin Tallie.  We were so excited to spend time with them - and Lucy just adores her cousin.  We also had some time to spend with Kathy and the kids again, and I also met up with another friend for lunch and met our friends, The Georges, for dinner - they escaped the summer camp for a day!  I constantly just look to God in awe as to how much love we are blessed with by so many friends and family.  It's still very hard to leave MI, I do miss my sister horribly when we go.  Lucy cries for the first few minutes in the car.  We are blessed to have them in our lives!

 playing catch!

Mommy loves my gummy grin!  But while at Aunt Mim's I cut my first tooth and now there are 3 more on the way all at once.  (growing up WAY too fast!)
Aunt Mim always provides the best entertainment!  The girls had super long sparklers and Uncle Dean set off some fireworks.
And introducing..................SPECKLES!  (the bird!)
Oh gosh - we love Speckles!  Lucy helped give him water and seed.  He greeted us every morning when we came downstairs.  Annabelle also learned how to sign "bird."

Can't wait for more MI fun!

Kathy and the kids came in June - and we were so excited to see one another again.  She is such an amazing friend - just one of the best things about me moving to MI.  I just wish that she was still around though.  She's my friend that just "gets it" all the time.  We had a great time and were constantly on the go.
Day one was lunch out and then a rest day for her kiddos after traveling.
Day 2 we were off to the aquarium.

 Princess & the Frog???!
Lucy and Sofi on the frogs
 Kathy and handsome Henrik

Day 3 - Skyline and Oakley After Hours - The Men went to a baseball game
Annabelle's First Skyline - and we are so proud of her -she loved it!
First Skyline for all the Wanrooy's!  Henrik tried hard to get to Mommy's dinner.

Day 4 - Reds game for all
 Annie's second Reds game
 awesome seats!
 It was HOT!

We had one more day with our friends - so we swam in their downtown hotel pool and went out for dinner.  Their visit was such a great blessing - I cannot tell you how much we love this family.  I will be forever grateful that I went to that library program in Rockford, MI where I met one of my very best friends!

Sum, Sum, Summertime!

Oh wow!  It's been so hot here!  Our van registered 111 degrees today - not all that accurate, but close!  Hopefully my east coast and MI friends are staying a little cooler.

We've been busy here with playdates and a little traveling.  We're about to get a bunch of visitors for the rest of July, so that is a ton of fun.  June was so much fun as well as my friend Kathy came with her kids - more on that later.  So this month we are looking forward to Grandma & Grandpa visiting from Panama, Nanny and Pappy coming from PA, and Cousin Olivia coming in from MD.  The rest of our month is jam packed with visitors and we are so excited!!!

Here are some pictures of our sweet girls:

Annie's first bath in the sink.  We never did this with Lucy - and Annie just had so much fun!
Someone's tired!!!  Yes, she has found her thumb and that makes this Mommy so happy!  So adorable!
These sisters have fun together.  Look @ Annabelle pushing up like that - but don't let her fool you!  This girl is still not interested in crawling at all!  Lucy is such a smiler!
Just getting cool in the back yard

Our Latest

So, not much has been going on here...but I'm sure I can dig up some information.  Let's start with Miss Annabelle.  She just turned 9 months - and boy is she getting feisty!  She started off that way - got very quiet - and is now will easily share when she is frustrated.  Whether that be because she cannot get at a toy or her older sister is in her face.  But OH!! is she fun!  She is such a giggler, and makes me smile so often during the day.  We had hoped that she would be taken off her reflux meds, but at her latest appt. the dr. decided to keep her on for a few more weeks.  She's been slowing down on her formula significantly again - so we're trying a new dosage to see if it'll help her.  If it doesn't, most likely she's just being a little stinker!  She LOVES food, however, and will eat almost anything we put in front of her.  She did not like the medium salsa I had on my Chipotle the other night.  :(  She is a healthy, little one - and is now measuring in the 95%tile - so she is long and skinny!  Annie is NOT interested in crawling.  If she isn't crawling by her 10th month our ped wants us to start physical therapy.....which we find is odd.  Don't kids just figure it out when they are ready?  We'll see....for now, we're just enjoying the grunting she does when she keeps reaching for a toy out of the way.  She gets it for sure....but stretches for it instead of crawling for it.  Also, all of me smiles when people look at her and say she is my "Mini Me."
She's also a trooper when Mommy tries on all the new hair bows that I've been making her!  Doesn't she look soooo happy about it??!!  As Lucy quotes from Minnie Mouse - "there's no business like bow business!"

So our other cutie!  She just finished her first year of preschool.  Next year she'll go to preschool again for 3 days instead of 2.  Lucy is full of energy and is on the go from the time she gets up until she goes to bed - begging for just one more book.  Lucy is our super sensitive girl (sound familiar? - she looks sooo like Daddy but those emotions come from Mommy!) and cried just today because we moved her rattley-old dresser out of her room into her sister's room since she is getting a new bedroom suit.  She can't always pick flowers because she "wants them to stay with their family."  If you ask her what she wants to be when she grows up she'll say a beekeeper, then she'll add, "and a doctor too!"  Lucy loves to go to work with Daddy on Saturdays (thankfully not ALL Saturdays) and her new swingset.  She is an amazing little reader and instead of me reading her books, she will read to me.  Lucy is such a loving and compassionate girl.  She'll look for kids at the park who "don't have any friends."  We are proud of who this little girl is growing up to be.  She is challenging us a ton for sure - there is a lot of strong-willed personality going on and the tears flow for many (or NO) reasons at all.  She's a hugger and loves to crawl over me all day long - so when Daddy gets home I encourage her to climb on him!  There are days when she pushes me beyond what I can handle, but I love her so dearly.

As for us - Matt is working like crazy to get the hospitals up and ready for the new program.  We are just ready for some vacation time - not getting anything until late August.  I may take the girls on some short trips - maybe to see Aunt Mim in Michigan and Aunt Pat a few hours north.  One of my dearest friends from MI is coming next week to stay with her 2 kids - and we are so excited to see one another again (and I'm so excited to meet Baby Henrik!)  We are already missing our friends, the Georges, who are on a cruise right now (lucky!) and will be spending another summer up north @ a camp.  But glad I have some teacher friends that will be off work for the summer, as well as some play time with Sarah and little Iris!  Lucy's been having some fun playdates w/ school friends, so it's been nice to hang out with other mommies - but it'll be nice to have Kathy here to veg out with during the day while the girls keep themselves busy.  Most days I feel like all I do is clean up messes, find Cheerios in hidden nooks, and crash at night - but "in everything you do, whether you eat or drink, do it all for the Glory of God!"  I'm trying!  :)  We are so blessed with our little family - I don't ever want to forget that.

Lastly, I have NO idea what is going on with our blog background!  I'm no techy for sure - so I'm calling in a few good blogger friends to help me out.  it shouldn't be that hard, right?
