Our Latest

So, not much has been going on here...but I'm sure I can dig up some information.  Let's start with Miss Annabelle.  She just turned 9 months - and boy is she getting feisty!  She started off that way - got very quiet - and is now will easily share when she is frustrated.  Whether that be because she cannot get at a toy or her older sister is in her face.  But OH!! is she fun!  She is such a giggler, and makes me smile so often during the day.  We had hoped that she would be taken off her reflux meds, but at her latest appt. the dr. decided to keep her on for a few more weeks.  She's been slowing down on her formula significantly again - so we're trying a new dosage to see if it'll help her.  If it doesn't, most likely she's just being a little stinker!  She LOVES food, however, and will eat almost anything we put in front of her.  She did not like the medium salsa I had on my Chipotle the other night.  :(  She is a healthy, little one - and is now measuring in the 95%tile - so she is long and skinny!  Annie is NOT interested in crawling.  If she isn't crawling by her 10th month our ped wants us to start physical therapy.....which we find is odd.  Don't kids just figure it out when they are ready?  We'll see....for now, we're just enjoying the grunting she does when she keeps reaching for a toy out of the way.  She gets it for sure....but stretches for it instead of crawling for it.  Also, all of me smiles when people look at her and say she is my "Mini Me."
She's also a trooper when Mommy tries on all the new hair bows that I've been making her!  Doesn't she look soooo happy about it??!!  As Lucy quotes from Minnie Mouse - "there's no business like bow business!"

So our other cutie!  She just finished her first year of preschool.  Next year she'll go to preschool again for 3 days instead of 2.  Lucy is full of energy and is on the go from the time she gets up until she goes to bed - begging for just one more book.  Lucy is our super sensitive girl (sound familiar? - she looks sooo like Daddy but those emotions come from Mommy!) and cried just today because we moved her rattley-old dresser out of her room into her sister's room since she is getting a new bedroom suit.  She can't always pick flowers because she "wants them to stay with their family."  If you ask her what she wants to be when she grows up she'll say a beekeeper, then she'll add, "and a doctor too!"  Lucy loves to go to work with Daddy on Saturdays (thankfully not ALL Saturdays) and her new swingset.  She is an amazing little reader and instead of me reading her books, she will read to me.  Lucy is such a loving and compassionate girl.  She'll look for kids at the park who "don't have any friends."  We are proud of who this little girl is growing up to be.  She is challenging us a ton for sure - there is a lot of strong-willed personality going on and the tears flow for many (or NO) reasons at all.  She's a hugger and loves to crawl over me all day long - so when Daddy gets home I encourage her to climb on him!  There are days when she pushes me beyond what I can handle, but I love her so dearly.

As for us - Matt is working like crazy to get the hospitals up and ready for the new program.  We are just ready for some vacation time - not getting anything until late August.  I may take the girls on some short trips - maybe to see Aunt Mim in Michigan and Aunt Pat a few hours north.  One of my dearest friends from MI is coming next week to stay with her 2 kids - and we are so excited to see one another again (and I'm so excited to meet Baby Henrik!)  We are already missing our friends, the Georges, who are on a cruise right now (lucky!) and will be spending another summer up north @ a camp.  But glad I have some teacher friends that will be off work for the summer, as well as some play time with Sarah and little Iris!  Lucy's been having some fun playdates w/ school friends, so it's been nice to hang out with other mommies - but it'll be nice to have Kathy here to veg out with during the day while the girls keep themselves busy.  Most days I feel like all I do is clean up messes, find Cheerios in hidden nooks, and crash at night - but "in everything you do, whether you eat or drink, do it all for the Glory of God!"  I'm trying!  :)  We are so blessed with our little family - I don't ever want to forget that.

Lastly, I have NO idea what is going on with our blog background!  I'm no techy for sure - so I'm calling in a few good blogger friends to help me out.  it shouldn't be that hard, right?
