30 WEEKS!

Today is officially my 30th week of pregnancy. Let's just say - I'm hanging in there! So much that is different this time around. Yet, I can still say there is so much that is the same. Thankfully I escaped any nausea the second time around - and even the lovely GBS test (I've been successful in avoiding that with each pregnancy!). Another praise is that I passed my first glucose test this time - I guess all my healthier eating is paying off - yet I still will sneak in a Busken cookie once in a while with Lucy. I really didn't want to have to do the 3 hour again.

Feeling pretty good still - but definitely getting super tired again. My lower belly/abs feel like Annie is about to break out at any minute. Here's my little tip for mom's to be - MATERNITY SUPPORT BELT! (I'm swearing by the mini-cradle) This has been my saving grace! Love it - Lucy even "pretends" to put hers on and tells me that her belly hurts because of her baby, Elizabeth, in her belly. (she came up with all that on her own....) My legs are starting to feel like they weigh a ton - however, no swelling (thank you Lord!) - they just get tired pretty easily.

So, all in all, I am doing pretty great - but still looking forward to having my own body back in 10 wks. I loved being pregnant with Lucy until around 7 months, and I just hit that 7 m. mark here with Annie. So it's probably all downhill now for me! :) YET - I praise God that He has blessed us with this new little one. We love to feel her moving (which she does a LOT) and think about how our lives will be blessed by her. It's pretty amazing! Not all roses and water colored ponies, but still...pretty amazing.

Oh and I'm so excited that a very close friend of mine is expecting! (you know who you are!) We are thrilled for you and cannot wait to hear more and more as the weeks pass!

More Random Beach Pictures

Checking out the water on the bay side. We had just gotten to the beach area, then had dinner. Lucy was off to collect shells and run after the birds.
Digging with daddy!

Cutie cousins

Pappy and his girls

Lucy drew this picture on a place mat at the restaurant where we were eating. She said, "This is my Daddy. He is so sad that he isn't with me." (Daddy had to fly home to go back to work.)

Me and Sissy

Mini-Golf! Lucy just loved this - I have a cutie pic of Tallie in a straw hat, but that is for her birthday picture on the blog - and an aunt always need to embarrass her tween niece.

Lucy napping - how adorable is this??? I bought her this Cinderella (who she has recently just fallen in love with!) and she hasn't stopped sleeping with her yet.

Visiting with Mam Mam Bushie

Just a little dip in the pool

Lilah and Lucy - this is the daughter of one of my good, hometown friends. These two cutie girls played so well together, had a good time in the pool, and enjoyed a good dinner.

Knoebel's Part 2

Because we really like it! This time we met up with a high school friend of mine and her twins, Wyatt and Abbey. How cute are these kiddos? and oh....so....sweet! Wyatt and Lucy went on a few rides together. They were so cute.

3 Must See Documentaries

Matt brought home a documentary the other night - I thought I would fall asleep....but he did well. :) It was a great doc. on schools in the U.S. As a former teacher, it really irritated me how our school systems are run - and I can see why parents choose to home school. We had a really good discussion after this one re: our children's education!

Business of Being Born was also really good! I would never, ever consider a homebirth - I am just way too chicken! But it was really great to see how women can take charge of their birthing process. I have a friend who had a home water birth for her 3rd, and she said it was difficult, but felt that it was much better than her previous 2 hospital births and the recovery was way faster. It's sad that midwifery is becoming a lost art.

Amazing! Every parent should see this! Such a great documentary. It follows 4 babies around the world and shows how no matter where they live, they all still reach the same milestones and grow up to be healthy babies. It's interesting to watch a family take home their newborn (and young child) on a motorcycle, in another country a chicken walks across the bed where a baby is sleeping, and yet another that shows a little one just playing in the dirt at his mother's feet. I loved this documentary. Shows a lot of unnecessary things we parents do in the U.S. also!
